Sorry I haven't been online much in a few day's. Thursday was Freedom Fest at our church so we were there for a while but didn't end up staying for the fireworks because the boy's were acting up a bit so we came home early. I think they were tired because they went to sleep really quickly LOL.

Friday was not only the 4th of July but also our Anniversary. Can't believe we have now been married for 10 years!! It has really gone by fast!! I remember just a few weeks prior to us getting married hubby's dad committed suicide and we ended up having custody of his three teenage brothers. They were 13, 16, and 17. That first year of marriage is pretty hard anyway but we started it with three teenage boys. We were only 22 ourselves. It was a hard year but we got through it. After that year they decided to move in with their step mom. (long story there LOL). I remember asking my hubby before we got married if he wanted to postpone it because of what had happened to his dad. His reply was that he wanted something good to come of what happened.

That day 10 years ago yesterday was a wonderful day! We got married in his dad's backyard (we had moved in after his dad died and after we were married). Harlow hadn't seen me that whole day because of tradition lol. He never even saw my dress either till that day. That dress (thank you for all the compliments on it :D) was actually a dress they weren't going to make any more and a dress other people had tried on so my mom got it for $300. It was originally more than that (I don't remember now). My one aunt did my flowers and our invites. We went to Gordon foods and bought in balk the food. So in total I think the wedding was just over $3000. Yea it was still a lot of money but not like some weddings I've seen LOL. It was all worth it though!! I still remember that day like it was just yesterday. I could go on and on with the memories but then I might bore you all LOL. So out of something tragic came something good!! We've had our ups and downs. We've had our arguments but I couldn't imagine living my life without my hubby!! Here's to 10 more years and more!!!!!!!

Not much going on today. It was a nice day out so the boy's were outside much of the day. I just stayed home (I know amazing huh? LOL) and relaxed. Just got laundry around for tomorrows laundry day LOL. I am going to go early to meet a MOMS Club mom because I have to give her some money for the the end of year banquet we are going to have on the 21st of June. It's the anniversary for when that chapter of MOMS Club started (MOMS Club is an international club). It's a formal occasion so I am going to have to find a dress. Which is hard to find one that I like and one that is my size :(. Wish me luck on that one. I hope everyone is having a good day.

Happy Anniversary Sort Of.

LOL. I know title is a little odd. No today isn't hubby's and mine Wedding Anniversary. I was reading over at Anne's Blog and got to thinking that hubby and I have been together this month for fifteen years! I am bad and don't know the exact date but I know it was this month LOL.

We met over at my cousins house. I was spending the night at her house and his family was friends with them and were over and I met him there. We talked and flirted LOL. In May we finally started "going out". Turned out that my mom and his mom were friends when they were younger and hubby and I even shared a crib at one time LOL. My mom would go over there house and play cards so they would stick us in the same crib while they played!

See my dad was in the army so we were always moving. We would come back to Michigan for visits in between moving and some of those times we actually visited hubby's family. My mom reminded me of this when we first started dating and I remembered seeing pics of Harlow and asking my mom who that was LOL. So in away hubby and I have known each other all our lives though we really didn't know it LOL.

Harlow and I will be married for ten years in July! That is pretty good (I know not an extremely long time but still) considering most of our friends that were married before and after us are now divorced and some of them are remarried. Marriage has it's ups and downs but I really can't imagine spending it with anyone else. :D

Church Anniversary

Today was a good and busy day. Today being Sunday we went to church. It was also our Church's 33 year anniversary. We had a guest speaker who shared her life with us and also sang some songs. She had a very beautiful voice. It was a nice service.
After church we came home and pretty much didn't do whole lot but we've all had a busy couple of weeks so it was nice. Then we went to church again at six p.m. for an anniversary get together. We got to hear stories from before the land and church was built. How a group of people would go from house to other areas before someone donated the land where our church now stands. It was so nice to hear all the stories from people that have been there from the beginning and also from people who are relatively new in the Church. Afterwards they had some food out for us to eat and socialize with one another. The boy's after eating ran around and played with each other and other kids.
Our church is on the bigger side but it still feels like home to me. I have never felt at home in other churches I had been to before we found this one. I don't know if it's because I never really knew God before we found this church. (that's a story in and of it's self LOL. Maybe another time I will talk about it.) or if this was supposed to be our home and we just didn't know it till we found it. Either way I really love our church and the people in it. Everyone is so loving and so caring. I remember growing up I never felt like I belonged any where but our church I have never felt out of place. That is t legacy of our church and I hope to pass that torch for the boy's too. If not for them to go to that church when they are adults. Then at least to have that seed to share with other's on their experiences with the Lord and help other's feel like we do at our church.
Ok, I know I am rambling again LOL. It is already 11p.m. here so that might explain it. So if I just typed a bunch of gibberish then ignore me LOL. I guess I am just in a nostalgic mood tonight. That and a bit tired too LOL.
