Sleepless in Michigan

Well it's just after 5 a.m. here and I have been awake now since just after 1 a.m.  I have gotten just over two hours of sleep.  Why? You ask.  Well just after 1 a.m. Jarod started crying and complaining of his stomach hurting.  And I am sure you guessed it he got sick.  Thankfully it's only been that one time but he is sleeping on the couch right now as I watch over him.

What makes it worse is we still have no water.  It is still frozen in the well.  So after making sure Jarod was done being sick I had to fill the toilet up with water to flush it then after all that (just after 2 a.m.) I started getting our buckets and going outside to collect snow to melt to put in empty gallon milk jugs to once again fill the toilet.  Then of course I had to get even more snow to melt so we have enough if and when we have to flush the toilet.

I finally got finished with all that after four a.m. but now of course I am to wound to even think about going to sleep.  Was planning to go to church today but I don't think that is happening.  I am debating whether or not I should have Chord stay home from church too just in case he comes down with it.  I would hate for him to spread it around.  He doesn't seem to be sick but one can never tell.

I think Jarod got it from his cousin.  They were over there yesterday after Harlow took them to get their haircut.  Then Saturday we went over there to take showers since we don't have water yet.  Their cousins were just getting over being sick I guess and I think Jarod picked it up.

I am praying it won't be bad through since he hasn't been getting sick since just after one a.m.  If Chord does get it I hope it's not bad either.  I mean it's bad enough (and I do feel so bad for the poor little guy) that he is sick but then to have no water on top of that.  Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy NOT!  I hope your Sunday will be better than how mine has started.  Please excuse me if I am just rambling on here with lack of sleep an all LOL.

UPDATE:

As of just after 9 a.m. this morning we now have water!!  Yeah!!!  As for the question Madame asked me on where I live.  Well we live toward the country more.  We live close to two towns so not way, way out in the country but the country no less.  We use the well water for our showers and for cooking and drinking we have the Culligan water we buy.  The dishes are also done with the well water.  Other than tasting badly it's the same as running city water.  Just the pipes from the well froze and the Landlord had to thaw it. Our Landlord, The duplex across from us (the Landlord owns that too)and us all share the same well so we were all without water.  Thankfully all is good now and we have water.  Now if only we can get rid of this sickness and no one else get sick that would be great!!  Keep us in your prayers :).

Internet out and another one sick

Yesterday for some reason out Internet was out. No signal or anything. So we called charter and they said they would come the next day. So then it was off to a birthday party to take the boy's too. They got to bowel and have a lot of fun. Then all of a sudden Jarod started acting tired and laying his head down. I had asked if he felt ok and he said he did but he didn't look good. A friend of mine actually took us so we left after the party was over and got home. We were about home for a couple hours when he just got sick every where. Thankfully the next time he got sick he made it to the bathroom (sorry TMI) it was also the last time he got sick for the night and slept the night through thankfully. So it was bad but it could have been worse.

Today the cable guy comes (we have cable Internet) and come to find out our cable had been cut out in confusion with our neighbors (we live on the same lot) so they had to re-hook us up. At least it didn't take long to figure out the problem.

Also today I took Chord to go see his one homeschool friend. I didn't take Jarod just because I didn't want him to spreading his virus any more than I might already have. So he spend some time with his dad while Chord and I got to talk with some friends. Chord even picked out a couple of books to read for himself and one to read to his brother. I am so glad to see that he is loving to read like his mom! Was a pretty good day considering. Glad to have Internet back though!

Sick Child

Well we didn't have school today because Chord was sick last night. I think he got a 24 hour bug or something. He was fine just before going to bed last night but then just before bed his tummy hurt and by 11 pm we were in and out of the bathroom most of the night and early morning. Thank the Lord he is ok today. He had a very slight fever today (wouldn't call it a fever per say it was 99.5) and pretty much took it each today. Please pray no one else gets it. I know whatever it was it wasn't food poisoning because we all ate the same thing. Then again he did eat more than he probably should have and that might have made him sick. But I don't think eating too much would make him have a slight fever. I just whatever it was is gone now and no one else gets it!

I did go to the Laundromat to do laundry today so at least I got that done. I am so tired though that the house didn't get much attention. It doesn't look too so that's good. I will do it tomorrow. At least the house doesn't look like a total disaster LOL. Tomorrow will be a better day I am sure. How was everyone else day?

My day today

Today was a busy day. First when I wake up I find that C. has a bad headache and a slight fever (99.7) so he is not quiet over whatever it was that J. had before. But after I gave him some Motrin he felt much better. Hasn't had any more issues since then. So we had a light day of schooling. After that I went to the Laundromat and did laundry. Afterwards I came home and hubby was putting the other computer desk in the living room. That way we can make the room it was in more of a toy room for the boy's to free up their room a bit. They aren't very big bedrooms and there is no closet in their room (long story LOL). So I spend the rest of the day going through old papers and getting things a little more manageable in there. I still have work to do in there but it looks a lot better. Well I am wiped out from all that so I think I will just surf the next for homeschool stuff and watch House at 9pm LOL.

Another One sick.

Yes, now my oldest is sick with whatever was wrong with my youngest. At least J is all better now. He has been fine all day. No fever, no headaches no anything. But now C is sick with a fever and headache. So hopefully by Sunday he will be ok and we can go to church. If not we will have to stay home. Poor kid, he really wants to go to church. He loves going to Potter's Kids. That's what they call Sunday School. I just hope I or hubby don't get what they had. But at least it isn't a long bad illness. Seems to ebb and flow. One minute you are ok and the next moment you feel awful then back to feeling ok again. As do any mom I so hate it when the boy's are sick.
Other than taking care of a sick child not much was done today. No schooling for either boy since they are both trying to recover (J is pretty much all better though) from being ill. But, it really doesn't matter since I started schooling them a month before schools around here even started school. So they won't miss much.
This weekend we really have nothing planned except going to church but with C. being sick we shall see. I am glad we don't have anything planned though. It's nice once in a while to have a night in instead of running around. Well that's about it for my day. Hopefully I have better stuff to blog about soon LOL.

Kids (Insert rolling eyes here) LOL.

Kid's are resilient aren't they? Why am I saying this? Well, it started yesterday. We came home from being out and about (getting my hair cut along with other errands to run) and I noticed J (my youngest) had what look like a small rash on one of his cheeks. I thought maybe he just brushed up on something that maybe he had a slight allergy to. Other than that he was ok. So I forgot about it. Well later that night he complained of a headache. So I gave him some Tylenol and gave him a cold wet wash cloth. Started to get a little concerned but I thought well he was up early this morning. He might just be tired.
Fast forward till morning time. I had decided to let the boy's sleep in a little to make sure they got enough sleep. Well they wake up just fine and we start schooling after getting dressed and brushing teeth. Everything goes by ok and then J starts to lay his head down and be whiny. I check him and he has no fever so I tell him to take a nap (this was about 9:30am). Then about 11:00am he wakes up and he has a slight fever, he's crying of a headache and he now has a rash not only on his face but his stomach as well! I get so worried I call the doc. They said they would give me a call back to get me an appointment for him. So I wait and J is whaling that his head hurts. I am getting worried about him so I give him some Motrin and give him some water to drink. The doc's office calls back and says to bring him in at one p.m. So we eat lunch and I watch over J and then out of no where he says he feels better and even eats (at first he didn't want to ) and starts playing with his brother. This after screaming bloody murder about his head. We take him to the doc's office anyway and they said it's just a viral thing and to just keep giving him Motrin or Tylenol. I guess though here in Michigan they have had a few instances of Measles but they really checked him out and he does not have that thank the good Lord. He seems fine now but I will keep an eye on him. Tomorrow we will all just have a easy day together with family. At least till hubby has to go to work.
