Bobbie’s - Getting to Know you Better Questions.

I have been tagged by my friend over at Once a Wounded Lily now a Desert Rose it's called...........Bobbie’s - Getting to Know you Better Questions.

How did you come up with your blog name? Homeschooling has become more of a life style than something we just do.  Made up of different moments and not just when we are doing any sit down work but in our every day lives.  Thus the name Homeschool Moments :).

What is a cause closest to your heart? I think what is closest to my heart is anything to do with children.  Every since having my own children I have realized just how much some children suffer so if I can do anything to help a child in need or a child hurting I love to help.

Do you or have you ever home-schooled? Yes, we are in our fourth year of homeschooling.  We have started from Kindergarten for both boys.  Sure there are some days that are rough but I wouldn't trade any of it.  Our family loves it this way!!

What was the biggest challenge homeschooling? The biggest challenge homeschooling for me was in the beginning.  Like a lot of beginners I made it a school at home instead of living in the moments.  Homeschooling is so much more than school work.  It was hard for me to let that go.

What was your most favorite moment while HS? What is my favorite with homeschooling is seeing that light bulb moment when they finally get something they couldn't do previously.  I love being there when it happens!  I also love watching them go from being dependent on me teaching them to them being independent learning on their own.  It's just awesome to see!

If you could do it all again would you? In a heartbeat!  I have been blessed to be able to do it!  I know the boys love it too!

Do you like to bake or cook? Yes, I do.  I especially like to try something new.  I would do that more but kids and hubby are such picky eaters LOL.

What is your most favorite thing to bake or cook?  Honestly, I just love to try any new recipe.  Over the summer I learned to make Zucchini bread and I loved making it till I got it just right!  It was a lot of fun.  Love to learn something new!

What is a kitchen appliance that you could not live without?  It's between my stove(oven) and microwave.  Stove for obvious reasons LOL but the microwave I like not for TV dinners or anything like that but I love cooking my veggies in it.  They seem to have more flavor in the microwave then cooked in a pot.

What color is your kitchen done in?  We rent so we don't have a choice in the color so it's an ugly pale green color.

If you could live anywhere - no cost involved where would you live? If money wasn't involved I would love to just travel really.  I grew up with my dad in the Army so we moved around a lot.  I know it may seem odd to a lot of people but I miss the traveling.  Maybe I am a Gypsy at heart.  On my mom's side I do have Romanian in me LOL.

What size house would you live in? Spacious but not super big where it would take a lot to clean and if it was my dream house I would love it to have a bay window where I could sit by and read a book!

Do you plant a garden? no because we rent and we don't have a lot of space.

If you do what do you plant? N/A

What is your favorite bible verse? why?  Matthew 6:25-34 where Jesus talks about not worrying.  I find so much comfort in those words because I am a worrier by nature and reading them reminds me I just need to lean on Him!  Our family has been through a lot but we have always managed to come out on top (because of God's Mercy!!) and I know we will again with the situation we are in now.

Do you take notes during church?  Yes, I do.  Helps me retain a lot of what I learn.  If I didn't take notes I don't know if I would retain as much.  Do you highlight your bible and write little notes in the margin?  Not always but I have if it strikes me.

What is one of your favorite Christian blogs to visit?  I have to name a couple LOL.  The one who tagged me with this Once a Wounded Lily now a Desert Rose and Madame Rousseau.

Do you think this is too long and has too many categories?  Not at all.  I loved answering the questions!

If you were stranded on a deserted island what three things would you take with you? My Bibles, my laptop and lots of water to drink LOL.  (if you were talking about people I would say my family :). )

I tag anyone who wants to do this!

I almost forgot Maria Tagged me LOL. So here it goes.... This one might be a little hard on me since I have never really been materialistic and with growing up an army brat we moved so much so we didn't take much. Especially when we moved over seas.

10 Objects I Couldn't Live Without
This is a list of ten objects, not people that I couldn't or wouldn't want to live without.

4. Coffee- I don't drink a lot of coffee but I have to have my two cups of coffee in the morning! If not I might be a bit grumpy LOL

5. Books!! I love to read. I don't have a lot of time during the school months but during the summer my nose is always in a book and I can't imagine not reading!!!
-
6. Paper! LOL I know that is odd but I really like paper. I have since I was a kid loved to get stationary and paper products. I don't know why LOL. I just really like paper LOL.
-
7. Music. I may go a while without listening to it but then I get into a kick and will sing and listen to music for a while.

8.CHOCOLATE- I so agree with you on this one too Maria LOL! I love chocolate! It can make a bad day good and for a moment it takes you away to good times LOL. Yummy LOL.
-
9. C.S.I. - I know this is such a guilty pleasure of mine. I really love watching this show. I love trying to figure out who done it! I love watching how they find out not only who done it but how. I like watching the other ones but I can go without them but I can't go without watching the original
-
10. Most importantly my wedding rings. I lost my original set in the fire we had in '04. So these one are now even more important to me. Not because they are better or anything but because I know what it's like to lose them and I don't want to go through that again. They really mean something to me. They are not just rings but a promise from my hubby to me. To love me eternally.

It's TAGGING time. I Tag Anne, Julie, and Kelli

I've Been Tagged

Maria Tagged me to post on the years of my life. This might be hard LOL but here is my try.

20 Years Ago I... I was 11 years old. If I remember correctly we were living in California. I was held back in the first grade due to me missing so much school because of trying to get my epilepsy under control so I had to have been in 5th grade. I remember hating living in California. I just didn't make many friends because I was the quiet one and kept to myself. I just didn't like living there and was happy when we were moving later that year to Germany.

10 Years Ago I... Harlow and I were planning our wedding. We were married July 4th 1998. I was working at a Nursing home as a nurses aid. After we were married in our wedding clothes we went to the nursing home and showed my new hubby to the residents I took care of. It was a good time but it was also a sad time too because three weeks before we were to get married hubby's dad had committed suicide. I had told Harlow at the time that if he had wanted to postpone our wedding because of it I would understand but he wanted to make it a happy time instead of all the sad. It really was a beautiful wedding though!

5 Years Ago I... We had two boy's. Chord was almost three years old and Jarod was a year old. By this time I was a SAHM and all though it was an adjustment I enjoyed it. It had it's hard times but it was good. We also had to file bankruptcy. It was a sacrifice but it was well worth it in the end.

1 Year Ago I... It was a good year for the most part. I had been homeschooling for 2 years and was starting our third year of homeschooling. We also found out hubby was to lose his job in 2008. But was still a good year. We went to the zoo a lot and even went to the Museum not too far from here.

So Far This Year... We have been spending time together as a family and continue to homeschool. We are very blessed. I got the boy's next years curriculum but I might start them early don't know yet.

Tomorrow I... I will live one day at a time. Tomorrow we really don't have anything planned out but we will figure it out.

This Year I Shall... Be thankful for all that we have been blessed with and to remember enjoy the time I have with my family. I do want to be more organized though LOL. I also want to eat healthier and hopefully lose weight in the process. I also want to walk with God more and read my Bible more (we have been too) and be more involved with our church.

I know it looks like we have been through a lot and we have but I wanted to state here also that we are very blessed too. I think the hard times we have been through have made us who we are now and stronger together too. So don't feel too sorry for me LOL. I am a happy person and our family is happy too. We know that whatever "bad" we go through God is always there to walk us though! We are truly blessed.

I tag........Anne, and Kel. I would tag Julie but you have already been tagged with it LOL.
