Hello

Hello Everyone,  I know I have been gone a LONG, LONG time and I am sorry.  We have just had a lot going on.  We have had our fair share of illnesses and been busy with school. Seems we get really busy this same time of year every year with doing things.

I have been spending a lot of time with my camera :).  A friend of mine in Feb. took me and the boys to take pictures of this one park that had flooded and then iced over.  I got some really great pics :).

I have many more cool pics of this park but maybe I will show those another time :)

Also in Feb. the boys had Science Club within the MOMS Club®

Then of course we have been doing school work as you can see it’s not the most fun thing for the boys LOL.

Then in March I played more with my camera….

Can you tell they are getting sick of me taking pics?

Also in March we went to the Natural History Museum.  The boys had a lot of fun looking at everything!

Then this past weekend (March 21) we had a birthday party for both boys.  Since Jarod’s birthday falls so close after Christmas (Jan. 3) we decided to have a combined party for both boys.  Poor Jarod has never had a birthday party because where his birthday falls and we just don’t have the money at that time.  But he and Chord had a lot of fun this year with it!  They had it at our local bowling alley! My Sister-in-law and Brother-in-law bought the cake but decorated it themselves (aren’t they awesome?!)

Then today was Chord’s official birthday!  Can you believe he is nine years old now?!  I still can’t figure out where the time went.  Anyway we took the boys to the Zoo today.  It was a bit chilly but so worth it because there was hardly anyone there :).  So we didn’t have to rush through it like in the summer months.  We also got to hear an elephant trumpet a little and one of the Lions roared at us LOL.  Well I wouldn’t say roar exactly it was more like it was calling or something.  It scared Jarod though LOL.  But it was the coolest thing to hear.  Usually they are sleeping on the other side of the Rock so we can’t see them but this time one of them made an appearance.  I only wish I took a video of it instead of just pictures.  Anyway here are some zoo pictures!

In other news, Harlow has decided to not continue with the schooling.  He was having a rough time with it and it wasn’t making him happy and his negative attitude about it was rubbing off our family as well.  So he is now not going to school but still getting unemployment and actively looking for a job.  Even if he has to start from the bottom he is willing to do it.

Please pray that he can get into a Rest Area which would be a State Job.  His friends brother works there and he told Harlow there will be an opening there soon.  So pray that there is an opening and that he does get the job. Even if he starts off at a low wage it’s a state job so it will have good benefits and in the long run he will make better money down the road.  So please keep thinking of us :).

I am sorry I have been gone so long.  I also wanted to thank all of you who have commented or emailed me wondering how I have been.  I really appreciate it :).  At least I know I was missed a little LOL.  I hope everyone is doing well!!!

THEME:

“This week I’d like to invite you to share your favourite field-trip that you’ve been able to go on since you’ve started homeschool. I’d encourage you to include photos, but you don’t have to.”

I guess our favorite field trip has been the Natural History Museum a few towns over from us.  It has a lot of  different things to see and learn about.  Not exactly Creation based but we still have a good time going.  When we go on field trips Chord likes to bring his sketch book so he can draw the different things he see's.  He just loves to draw :).  We have gone there a few times and I know we all look forward to going again.  They also have a planetarium that is so cool to see too!! We all could spend all day there LOL!  Here are some pics from one of the times we went.  I hope you enjoy.

I am sorry I haven't been blogging regularly this week. I am just not feeling well. The boy's had a cold and hubby got it and of course I got it last and it's really doing a number on me. It just doesn't seem to want to go away ugh. I have stayed pretty healthy all winter and now that it's spring of course I get sick LOL.

Today we did go to the Toldeo Museum of Art's in Ohio. We don't live in Ohio but it wasn't a long drive either. I didn't take any pics because I wasn't sure if they would let you or not. We kind of just went on a whim. They had a temporary display with a couple of mummies. It was really interesting to see. I thought it would have been more of a display but it was neat anyway. I liked a lot of the art there. I just wish I felt healthier to have enjoyed it more.

I love this about homeschooling. Granted it was on a weekend and anyone can go on the weekend but I love the fact that we really can go when we want to. I love too that the boy's don't groan because they are doing more learning. The really enjoyed looking at all the paintings and artworks and even asked questions. I love seeing them enjoy learning new things. Homeschooling really isn't just about doing "school" things but a way of life. In the short three years of homeschooling the boy's I have learned so much! I have learned that learning is taking place everyday whether it's by reading a book or exploring life together.

This year of homeschooling has been the best yet. It's because I have relaxed and really seen the possibilities of learning. I have actually found I love to learn! Me, the girl who dreaded going to school loves to learn?! It's funny when I think back to just three years ago how I initially started to homeschool because I thought it was best for the boy's. Now I see what it has done for me. Not only am I closer to the boy's and the whole family but I am learning right along with them. The boy's sure have taught me a lot. And here I thought I was educating them LOL. Can you tell I really love homeschooling? LOL.

Sorry Been MIA

Hey Everyone. Sorry I haven't been posting regularly. Since hubby's been home it seems like we are even more on the go then we were before. I think being home is driving him nuts. Tuesday was the boy's dentist appts. No cavities yeah!!! Then went straight there to the Laundromat to do the good ol' laundry LOL. We came home and hubby said he was board out of his mind so we were out the door again. We went shopping for Chord's birthday, which is on Monday. We decided to let him get what he wants now. My dad will be sending him money I am sure and my mom is taking him out to go shopping when she comes back from her mini vacation LOL. We went to three stores in a town about 40 mins from here and didn't have what he was looking for. So we ended up going back to our town and went to two stores before we found it duh LOL. It was a Lego thing. Didn't think it would have been that hard but oh well we had fun. Between all those times I picked up the game Uno (which we have to play yet LOL) and the game Clue. We got home at about 6:30pm. They boy's played with their Lego's and didn't get to bed till around 9pm. Oh and we finished school work before we went to the dentist LOL.

Wednesday We played a lot of educational games with flash cards and such. We also played Clue because it's a thinking game :P. Then later that night had to go to Church because all the kids in their Potter's Kids are going to be singing with the Choir one song on Easter Sunday! It was too cute!! Chord, I was told by one of the teachers, was a natural LOL. He was singing and doing his moves like a pro LOL. Jarod was good but he wasn't paying much attention to the lady who was directing them in their moves LOL. He was too busy either looking at the other kids or at us. Oh well I think he will be ok once he's up there. Got home and the boy's had to hurry and get ready for bed.

Today we went to a Museum. It had dinosaur bones and other things in it. It had a lot of "evolution" in it but we just ignored that part and enjoyed ourselves. Here are some pics of that. We were home before 1:00 pm thankfully so been resting the rest of the day LOL. So how has everyone else been doing?
