THEME:

"This week I’d like to invite you to share what YOUR “Mom” help is. Some drink coffee, soda, or chia-tea. Others check email or read their favourite blogs. Some talk a walk…. what do you do when you need to clear your head and take a breather?"

Scripture Share:

"Please share a Scripture that gives you a “mom” help when you’re spirit is feeling overwhelemed."

I admit I love being on my computer and reading peoples blogs but what I love to do when I need a breather (and even when I don't LOL) is to go in our bedroom, lay on our bed and read a good book!!  I just love to read.  I like to get lost in a good book.  If it's a really good book I can't wait to get back to it and read more. But then (if it's a good book) I almost feel a little sad when I am done reading it.  Like I am saying good-bye to an old friend.  It's amazing what a good book does for me :).

The Scripture I've been living by lately is one I have shared here before I believe.  I have been living on it since just before hubby was laid off from his work at the end of Feb.  It's what reminds me that no matter what we are going through God is always there for us and taking care of us.  I have seen some miracles in this time too.  No, hubby doesn't have a job yet but God has been providing for us when we think we are at out lowest.  God is Awesome :).  Ok anyway the Scripture is...

"Therefore  I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.  Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?  Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not much more valuable then they?  Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?"  Matthew 6:25-27

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34

These are really what keep me going and remind me that it doesn't do me or anyone else any good for me to worry.  Trust me my true nature is to worry.  I am a worrier by nature so I look at this Scripture often to get me through. God is Good :).

I hear you! I used to love to read and read and read. Sometimes I'd stay up so late, but then I wondered why I did that because the book was finished and I should have saved it a bit. That happened to me with the Zion Covenant series by Brock and Bodie Thoene. Years ago.
The bad news: I haven't found any books that have been that good lately, so I haven't been reading much (I'm re-reading The Hiding Place right now). Oh, for a book that grabs me and transports me far, far away.
Know of any good ones? (I don't like women's fiction--too "group huggy" and no plots).

Those are good verses... I should share them with Joe and Jared, who are both pretty good about worrying about things, and getting stressed out...

Those are probably my favorite verses. As a "anxious" type person, who worries a LOT about if her kids will get sick, if the economy will collapse, what would we do IF....I have to remind myself that God has it taken care of.

As for books, if you don't mind them, Harry Potter books were great for transporting you away. Then there are the old classics that I love. Not to mention Tolkein's stuff.

Those are also at the top of my list of favorite verses.... I cling to many thru these turmoil times here in Michigan.

I gain great strength from folks who are going thru the same and another verse that goes along w/ this:
Philippians 2: 1-5

Take Care and thanks for sharing...

I love that scripture - isn't it wonderful how God's Word soothes and blesses us.
